Location: Docklands, VIC | Hybrid (3 days in office)

Salary: Senior Manager-level package

Data is only as valuable as it is trusted. That’s why this newly created Senior Data Privacy Officer role is so important. This business is scaling fast, operating across multiple countries, and now needs someone to own the privacy strategy, frameworks, and compliance across the group.

You’ll report directly to the Chief Data Officer, advising the Board and executive team, while working closely with Legal, IT, Risk, and InfoSec. It’s not just about ticking compliance boxes – it’s about embedding privacy into how the organisation uses cloud, analytics, and AI.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading the company-wide data privacy strategy
  • Making sure the organisation stays compliant with AU, NZ, and global privacy laws (yes, including GDPR)
  • Running privacy risk assessments, audits, and incident responses
  • Partnering with Legal and the business during M&A activity to ensure privacy is front and centre
  • Driving privacy awareness and training across thousands of employees
  • Acting as the trusted advisor to the CDO, execs, and the Board

Who you are:

  • You’ve led privacy programs in complex, multi-jurisdictional environments
  • Strong grasp of global privacy regulations (AU/NZ Privacy Acts, GDPR, etc.)
  • Ability to embed privacy into technology initiatives – cloud, analytics, AI
  • Background in Legal, Risk, or Audit highly regarded
  • You’re confident influencing execs and board members, but also happy to roll up your sleeves
  • Ethical, impartial, and trusted with sensitive matters

👉 If you want a role where you’ll set the agenda rather than follow it, this is a genuine opportunity to build and lead from the front.
