The DPP (Data Privacy & Protection Champion)  

Involve in all activities and processes designed to assess and reduce business risk by from data privacy & protection perspective. 

  • Increasing DP&P awareness of management and employees. 
  • Ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the data. 
  • Compliance with Regulatory requirements including and not limited to Maintaining processing register.  
  • Ensuring the provision of privacy notices, and collection of consent where required.  

Including appropriate clauses into supplier contracts. 

  • Review of applications and ensure critical applications privacy status is up to date
  • Leads assessments, drives remediation, and Facilitate Data protection Audits (incl. “Golden Rule 0”). 
  • Work with DPandP Governance Team to assess progress of execution steps & remove roadblocks.  
  • Assumes accountability for execution of functions plan of work. 
  • Report on KPI progress (Defined by DPandP Governance Team in conjunction with Functions / Countries). 
  • Deploys general end user awareness and training on Data Privacy (DPDPA) + other work packages. 
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (DPDP Act)
  • Designs, communicates, applies & supports Data privacy compliance programs, policies, KPIs, Data risks, and regulations in scope.  
  • In collaboration with the technology/practice/domain/country/region security leaders, Support security of personal data on relevant platforms. 

Data Risk Management

  • Ensuring that digital risks related to data Privacy compliance to DPDPA are mitigated. 
  • Conduct comprehensive data risk assessments across business units & technology platforms.
  • Identify vulnerabilities in data management processes & propose mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with IT & business teams to embed data risk controls into systems & processes.
  • Perform gap analysis and recommend improvements to strengthen data risk posture.
  • Track and report key risk indicators (KRIs)
  • Prepare risk dashboards and report
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business and technology teams on data risk matters.
