As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Enterprise Technology Data Protection & Recovery product line, you will be an essential member of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner.  As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.

Job responsibilities:

  • Executes standard software solutions; design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance.
  • Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications.
  • Applies technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity.
  • Gathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development.
  • Focusing on control, stability, resiliency, capacity, and performance.
  • Being aware and understanding of risks, vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure robust code delivery with a drive for zero post-implementation issues.
  • Participate in strategic planning and long-term decisions with product and engineering leads.
  • Plan, manage and implement unit, SIT, and UAT testing.
  • Promote and implement best practices, code reviews, and quality improvements.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
  • Demonstrate practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Hands-on experience building container hosted microservices with Spring Boot, Java and Python connecting to a NoSQL DB such as MongoDB.
  • Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and Security.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience with client-side technologies (HTML, JavaScript, ReactJS, jQuery).
  • Experience with Maven, Jenkins, Git/Subversion.
  • Ability to identify and solve complex, large-scale problems end-to-end.
  • Strong stakeholder relationship skills.
  • Experience providing Level 2/3 production support.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
  • Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle developing, debugging, and maintaining code, preferably in a large corporate environment.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Google Cloud).
