Qiddiya Investment Company is on the lookout for a dedicated and knowledgeable Senior Specialist - Data Protection Officer to lead our efforts in safeguarding personal data and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining our data protection policies, as well as ensuring that our operations adhere to local and international data privacy laws.
Your expertise will be essential in promoting a culture of data privacy and protection across the organization, collaborating with various departments to mitigate risk and protect personal information.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement data protection strategies and policies that comply with applicable data protection laws and regulations.
- Monitor compliance with data protection policies and conduct audits to ensure adherence across the organization.
- Provide advice and guidance to management and staff on data protection obligations and best practices.
- Conduct data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) as necessary for new projects and initiatives.
- Act as a point of contact for data subjects and regulatory bodies regarding data protection inquiries and complaints.
- Conduct training and awareness programs for employees on data protection standards and practices.
- Collaborate with IT and security teams to support the development and implementation of technical and organizational security measures for data protection.
- Maintain records of data processing activities and ensure data subject rights are upheld.
- Stay abreast of changes in data protection laws and regulations, making recommendations for necessary policy adjustments.
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Technology, Data Protection, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data protection, privacy compliance, or related roles.
- In-depth knowledge of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, local data privacy laws) and best practices.
- Experience conducting data protection impact assessments and audits.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with diverse stakeholders.
- Certifications such as Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or similar are preferred.
