A taste of what youâll do
The Data Protection & Privacy Manager (DPPM) acts as Deputy to the Data Protection Officer, provides operational leadership for the organization's data protection program and supporting the execution of DPO responsibilities during the DPOâs absence. This role combines technical expertise in data mapping and systems analysis with practical GDPR compliance management, requiring both strong technical understanding of data flows and the ability to translate complex privacy requirements into practical business solutions within a fast-paced, tech-focused environment.

Supporting the DPO
- Act as deputy to the DPO when required, including liaising with regulators and handling data subject queries
- Provide independent, practical advice on GDPR and data protection matters
- Help ensure all core GDPR obligations continue to run smoothly
Advising the business
- Guide teams on GDPR compliance for new projects, systems, and initiatives
- Translate regulatory requirements into clear technical and operational actions
- Support privacy by design decision making across the organisation
Technical data protection
- Lead data mapping activities and maintain Records of Processing Activities
- Document and visualise data flows across systems, databases, APIs, and cloud services
- Support Data Protection Impact Assessments, including technical risk analysis
- Assess privacy risks in areas like AI, automation, and emerging technologies
- Work with engineering teams on solutions like encryption, pseudonymisation, and data minimisation
Operational compliance
- Develop and update data protection policies, procedures, and guidance
- Draft privacy notices, consent mechanisms, and templates
- Design and deliver engaging training for both technical and non-technical teams
- Support audits, compliance monitoring, and vendor reviews
Data subject rights
- Manage access, deletion, and other rights requests end-to-end
- Coordinate with technical teams to locate, extract, and securely provide data
- Ensure requests are handled accurately, securely, and on time
Incident & breach response
- Support investigations into data breaches and security incidents
- Help assess impact, document findings, and support regulatory notifications
- Work closely with Information Security, Legal, and IT teams
Building a strong privacy culture
- Help continuously improve our data protection framework and tools
- Promote privacy awareness and ethical data use across the organisation
- Maintain clear, accessible documentation and knowledge resources
Who and what are we after:
Youâll likely be a great fit if you have:
- At least 2 yearsâ experience in data protection, privacy, or a related role
- A degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, Data Science or equivalent hands-on experience
- A professional data protection certification (CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, or equivalent)
- Practical experience with GDPR compliance, data mapping, DPIAs, DSARs, or breach response
- A solid understanding of information security principles and common frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2)
- The ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences
Bonus points if youâre curious about:
- Emerging regulations (AI Act, Data Act, Digital Services Act)
