About the role


As Privacy Manager within Sonova’s global Data Privacy team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring compliance with GDPR and worldwide privacy regulations, particularly across the EMEA region. You will act as a trusted advisor to the business, supporting multiple functions in navigating privacy challenges while promoting best practices in data protection.

More about the role


  • Ensure compliance with GDPR, EMEA, and other global privacy laws, monitoring regulatory changes and assessing their impact.
  • Lead privacy risk assessments (DPIAs, TIAs, LIAs) and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct audits and monitoring activities to ensure adherence to privacy policies and frameworks.
  • Draft and update privacy documentation — including policies, notices, and Data Protection Addendums (DPAs).
  • Support data subject rights management and breach response processes in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Partner closely with teams such as HR, R&D, IT, and Marketing to embed privacy principles in business operations.
  • Stay informed on emerging privacy topics, including the implications of AI technologies on data protection.


More about you


  • Master’s degree in Law, Data Protection, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in privacy management, ideally in the medical or healthcare sector.
  • Strong knowledge of GDPR, EMEA privacy regulations, and health data processing.
  • Proven ability to conduct privacy risk assessments and compliance monitoring activities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative approach.
  • Proficiency in English; German language skills are an advantage.
  • Recognized privacy certifications (CIPP, CIPM, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
