Join us as our new Data Privacy & Compliance Specialist
We are looking for a new colleague to join our Legal Compliance team alongside our current data privacy expert.
In this role, you will be instrumental in upholding Novonesis’ commitment to the responsible handling of personal data in compliance with global data protection laws. Reporting to the Chief Legal Compliance Officer, you will collaborate across departments to advise on privacy compliance, design and implement privacy policies, procedures, and controls, assess and mitigate privacy risks, and manage privacy compliance projects.
You will contribute to the ongoing development of our global data privacy compliance program, ensuring it remains aligned with an increasingly complex and evolving regulatory landscape within privacy, data, cyber security and other neighbouring areas.
Welcome to the Legal Compliance Team
The Legal Compliance team is part of the overall Legal function in Novonesis, which counts approximately 60 employees worldwide. Our purpose is to ensure a team of highly skilled legal and compliance experts who support the organization in achieving its business objectives while adhering to legal and ethical standards.
We strive to provide lean, pragmatic solutions with a strong business acumen and unwavering integrity; establish compliance policies and programs; manage cases of non-compliance; advise on compliance matters; and execute compliance projects within the organization.
In this role, you’ll make an impact by:
Building awareness about data protection in the organization with passion and engagement
Developing, implementing, and managing data privacy policies and compliance programs
Reviewing and advising on data processing agreements
Conducting data protection impact assessments
Developing training programs and content
Working on projects to meet privacy regulations and business needs
Serving as an advisor on privacy matters and responding to requests and issues relating to global data privacy issues, applying sound legal and commercial judgment.
You will thrive in this role if you bring most of the following:
A Master's degree in Law
Strong understanding of data protection laws and regulations
Ideally, 3-8 years - or more - of experience in data privacy and compliance within the private or public sector
Experience in drafting and reviewing privacy-related documents
Strong communication skills in written and spoken English
A practical and thoughtful approach to solving challenges.
