The Role

As Data Officer, you will monitor and clean data submission to ensure accuracy and adequacy in meeting project needs and reporting requirements. You will be based in Indonesia and will work closely with our teams in Indonesia. You will report to the Data Lead in Indonesia. This is remote work, so selected candidates can work from home office. 

Responsibilities

The Data Officer has the following areas of work and responsibilities: 

  • Data Cleaning & Quality Assurance – Verify and clean data submissions, including attributes, parcel geometry, and submission details, ensuring high data quality for project deliverables.
  • Data Integration & Analysis – Pull, integrate, and analyze data from multiple sources to generate insights for visualization across platforms like PowerBI, Looker Studio, Google Slides, and Excel.
  • Collaboration & Issue Resolution – Coordinate with the Field Associate to address data inconsistencies and resolve queries efficiently.
  • Process & Documentation Support – Assist in developing clear processes, instructions, and manuals for data cleaning and processing.
  • General Support & Operations – Provide assistance in meetings, training, research, administration, operations, and other data support related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Learning and Development

The ideal candidate should be eager and willing to learn and grow in the role, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically. You will be engaged in on-the-job training and development to gain knowledge about the sustainable commodities sector and our data system. You will be mentored by our Data Lead in Indonesia.

The ideal candidate has/is
  • Educational Background – Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 1–3 years of relevant experience is an advantage.
  • Data Expertise – Experience with master data and familiarity with livelihood data in agriculture is preferred.
  • Technical Skills – Proficiency in data processing tools such as Google Sheets, Google Slides, Excel, PowerBI, Looker Studio, and QGIS.
  • Problem-Solving & Initiative – Creative, detail-oriented, and proactive in managing and analyzing data.
  • Communication & Teamwork – Strong in both Indonesian and English, with a collaborative and accountable work ethic.
